How does the course work?

How many will be in my group?

Up to 12 but often we work with smaller numbers.

What does the workshop offer?

Our workshop offers a safe place to explore and examine your relationship with cannabis, leading you to a place where you will feel motivated, even comfortable, about your decision to stop your cannabis use.

Is it therapy?

No, we are dealing with the specific issue of your cannabis dependence.

Is the workshop open to everybody?

You will need to be 21 years or over. If you are receiving medication for mental health problems you will require a letter from your health practitioner or therapist explaining your treatment regime. You will also need to be able to understand and make yourself understood in English, and be able to fill out the assessment form.

Why do we work in a group?

We're all here for the same reason, we have admitted, even if only to ourselves that Cannabis has become a problem. From that starting point we will learn from each other's experience and support each other to move on in our lives. Perhaps only others in the same situation will fully appreciate what it means to quit using a substance that many of us have long considered harmless, non-addictive, a wonder drug even a best friend.

The workshop...

Doors open from 9am please be at the venue from 9.30am on the Saturday. The workshop will start at 9.45 sharp and aim to finish at 5.00pm. There will be a 45 minute break for lunch. Please arrive by 9.45 on the Sunday. The course will start at 10.00am sharp and will finish at 2.00pm. There will be morning and afternoon breaks for coffee, tea, fruit, pastries etc as well as soft drinks all of which will be provided.

How much does the weekend cost?

Full price is £165.00 £135.00 low income £120.00 unwaged. We include a clearhead hypnotherapy recording for you to take home as well as ongoing telephone and internet support (low income is for those earning £15000 pa or less)

Do you guarantee success?

Unfortunately not; that bit is up to you, however we will guarantee to help you totally revaluate your relationship with cannabis and understand the addictive process as well as give you every support to help you make the break.

Can I smoke cigarettes?

The Conway Hall is a non-smoking building however there will be morning and afternoon coffee/cigarette breaks and a 45 minute break for lunch.

Can I start the course if I have used cannabis that morning?

This is not advised in fact you should be consciously cutting down your intake in the weeks before the workshop. We will support you to prepare properly as soon as your participation is confirmed. Please, under no circumstances bring any cannabis with you, or into the room, unless asked to do so.

What about follow up?

The facilitators will be available both for telephone and online support for an unlimited period after the weekend. There will also be additional support available from others who have successfully quit cannabis with Clearhead.

When will I actually stop using cannabis?

After the end of the first day you will be invited to go home or back to where you are staying and smoke your last joint or pipe. You will be offered advice as to what to do with any leftover cannabis and your drug paraphernalia.

Can I join the course if I have already stopped smoking cannabis?

Absolutely! The Clearhead Programme can only reinforce your decision and deepen your motivation.

Can my partner, parent, lover, boss, best friend attend?

If they have a cannabis problem yes, should you want them to. But if not: Then no.

What do I need to bring?

Just bring yourself. Water, notebooks, and pens etc are provided.

Why is the workshop held only in London?

London is where we are based, but people have travelled to our workshops from quite long distances if you're travelling a long way we can help you find reasonably priced accommodation in London for the weekend.

The workshop itself will cover many areas of cannabis use and abuse including:

  • quit preparation
  • cannabis and ambivalence
  • finding and accepting your true identity
  • breaking the cannabis habit
  • cannabis and procrastination
  • cannabis and your mental health
  • cannabis and tobacco
  • surviving withdrawal
  • acceptance and adjustment
  • lapse and relapse prevention.
