Your Last Smoke
"Do not dwell in the past, do not dream of the future.
Concentrate the mind on the present moment.’ Buddha
How many joints, pipes, buckets or bongs have you smoked in your life? A thousand? Ten thousand? Does it even matter? Not really, but how your lungs feel every morning could probably give you a good indication.
It’s now time to prepare for your last smoking session. Perhaps this is something you have done or thought about many times before. It’s really best not to place any kind of special significance on these last few smokes. Truly, they’re no different from the thousands of other sessions that you’ve had with dope over the years. Is this really going to be your last smoke ever? No need to think in those terms. My advice would be to consider the next 24 hours without smoking as a real achievement. Remember, even at this point there’s always choice at every stage of the process. But for now it’s okay just to say something like, “I’ve had enough. I’m through with it. I’m not even enjoying it anymore. I’ve done this for such a long time, and I want more positive things in my life."
